Safety First New Zealand Limited was formed in 1987 to assist building owners and property managers with fire evacuation compliance in accordance with the Fire Safety Act 1975 and the subsequent Fire Safety and Evacuation of Buildings Regulations. Safety First has made numerous submissions in relation to the current legislation, and has been responsible for two amendments to improve the working of the current regulations.
Our experienced consultants have implemented, and provide ongoing management, for more than two thousand fire evacuation schemes nationwide - from commercial buildings large and small to hospitals and rest homes, theatres and cinemas, swimming pools and sports grounds, courts and prisons, public halls, apartments, schools, zoos and industrial sites.
Safety First provides specialist training in fire, earthquake, civil defence, first aid, casualty handling, basic rescue, bomb threat and armed hold-up procedures. Training presentations in respect of all emergency procedures can also be arranged by our consultants to suit individual client requirements.
Safety First supplies evacuation and fire safety products, civil defence and first aid equipment. All products supplied by Safety First meet the relevant standards and guidelines. We also conduct civil defence and first aid audits to determine individual requirements.
